One Man’s Junk is Another’s Treasure by Tim Sabre Davie
Tim Sabre Davie is a gadget addict. He travels from town to town in his brand new mini car, searching for the very best electronic gadgets available. As he travels, he also buys several books on what he considers the latest high tech gadgets. His eclectic knowledge of all things electronic invites him into a fascinating world of toys, gizmos, and technology that is both fascinating and unique.
This book is actually three parts. The first part introduces readers to Tim Sabre Davie. It explains his love of gadgets, how he purchases them, and the excitement that accompanies each purchase. Part two chronicles his travels to different cities and gives more information on the various gadgets he stores. The third part is where the real content of the book is revealed, an inside look at the most popular gadgets in the United States and Canada, and a brief history of the electronic gadget store. Each chapter is detailed with a title, a brief description, and a brief photo of the merchandise within the chapter.
I really enjoyed this book, especially the history of the gadget store. It was interesting to see Tim’s fascination with all the different types of gadgets, and his enthusiasm to share this passion with others. The knowledge that one gains from this little book is truly invaluable, as he helps us Americans understand not only why we love so many different kinds of gadgets, but also why all these gadgets are so incredibly diverse!
